Our cleanup division is helping clean the ocean and coastlines of Haiti...one pound at a time
While ocean pollution is a global problem, some countries are more severely impacted than others. And it’s no secret that the island of Hispaniola is currently awash in ocean plastic.
Haiti is a high-impact area for ocean pollution
After years of devastation from hurricanes and earthquakes, Haiti has become a high-impact area where our cleanup efforts can help prevent a massive amount of plastic and trash from entering the ocean. That’s why we chose this beautiful island nation as the site for our newest Cleanup Division Headquarters.
Port-au-Prince is home to our Haiti Cleanup Division
4Ocean Haiti is located on a two-acre facility in the city of Port-au-Prince. Home to a fleet of plastic recovery vessels, our team of 31 people are working to clean the ocean and coastlines seven days a week.
Education and awareness are critical prevention tactics
In addition to cleaning the water in and around Haiti, we’re also creating and joining local awareness programs to help educate the local community about the impact of plastic pollution. Our goal is to equip the community with information and tools that prevent more trash from entering the ocean.
A warm reception from a community that’s ready for change
Communities across the country are ready and eager to join the 4Ocean movement, embracing a shared future where we all work together to clean the ocean and help restore the prosperity and beauty of the island.
Working in conjunction with the Haitian government, the US Department of Commerce, and the US Chamber of Commerce, we’re honored to have this opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of many thousands of people.
How you can support 4Ocean Haiti
Raising awareness is a preventative measure that will have the biggest difference on the future of the ocean. So spread the word and encourage others to join the 4Ocean movement!
Helping others become aware of the plastic pollution problem will encourage them to take action that prevents plastic and trash from entering the ocean in the first place.
You can also purchase any 4Ocean product, which will pull at least one pound of trash from the ocean and coastlines in high impact areas all over the world, including our efforts in Haiti. Every purchase supports our mission to clean the ocean and coastlines of the world one pound at a time.

As we got closer to the ocean floor, we began to approach a reef; this reef was nothing short of epic. The colours were bright and everything appeared to be healthy with marine life flourishing... that was until the current changed. Within seconds, this heaving reef became surrounded with plastic and rubbish.
