Our aim is to eliminate waste at the end of our product lifecycle by taking back 4ocean products that our customers no longer use so they can be properly recycled or transformed into new products. Once you’re done with your 4ocean product, please reach out to our customer service team to receive a prepaid shipping label.

The 4ocean Closed-Loop Program is only available in the U.S. for now, but we plan to expand in the future.

“We have met the enemy and he is us.”

The caption of a comic strip by Walt Kelly used to promote the world’s first Earth Day on April 22, 1970.

Earth Day has become a day of human action on behalf of the environment. It’s an opportunity for people to come together, discuss the issues that are impacting our environment, and support action that will protect it for generations to come. But the ocean plastic crisis won’t be solved in just one day; that’s why every day is Earth Day at 4ocean.

It’s up to us collectively, as consumers, to not only change our habits but to influence large brands and corporations to change their production styles, which will help reduce the overproduction and overconsumption of single-use plastic that’s polluting the ocean.

We donated $14,528 to Earth Day network in 2018 and will donate another $10,000 at the end of 2019. Our donations support the Canopy Project, a global campaign to plant 7.8 billion trees by 2020 — that’s one tree for every person on the planet! These trees will help combat the worst effects of global climate change and reduce ocean acidification by reducing the amount of CO2 in Earth’s atmosphere.

Purchasing a 4ocean bracelet does more than clean the ocean. It also creates sustainable, living-wage jobs.

As soon as our beads, cords, and charms reach our main facility in Denpasar, Bali, a crew loads up our van and motorbikes to distribute these components to artisans in remote villages scattered across the island.

Women comprise 80 percent of this workforce. In Bali, women tend to assume the role of primary caretakers for their families, which means their job opportunities are limited. Because they’re able to hand assemble our bracelets in their homes and village centers, more women are able to join the workforce while continuing to care for their families.
