We are looking for a Field Service Engineer for our cleanups division, A Bachelors Degree in an Engineering program will be mandatory.
Join 4ocean in our fight against plastic pollution! We are looking for an experienced engineer to help design, manufacture, and implement various forms of technology to assist in prevention, interception, and recovery of ocean plastic. They will be a key team member responsible for the strategic development and management of 4ocean’s deployment of technology for cleanup initiatives. This individual will have full ownership of and will build out the team, strategy and objectives for each country.
Duties & Responsibilities
Willing and comfortable traveling internationally.
Working knowledge of technology applications; that can be used for trash/debris removal from water.
Ability to understand the environmental requirements from different country’s governments and convert them into a technical or solution design.
Alert to opportunities for product or process improvements.
Proactively communicates the need for fixes or changes in an effort to keep small problems from becoming big problems.
Continually focuses on achieving positive, concrete results contributing to the 4ocean movement success.
Demonstrates personal initiative and independent motivation to achieve goals and objectives.
Emerging ability to drive hard conversations to conclusion both internally and externally, engaging others in active, open and productive dialogue.
Ability to modify and shift behavior as situations or objectives evolve.
Prepare plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates under the supervision of experienced engineers.
Prepare standard contract documents, such as technical specifications, engineering reports, regulatory applications and other technical documents.
Conduct field work including site inspections, surveys and construction observations.
Coordinate work with engineers, other scientific and non-technical groups.
Ability and willingness to travel or accept short-term assignments in other locations.
Time flexibility and self-reliance, along with the ability to work independently, safely and communicate effectively are musts.
Good mechanical ability, mathematical and computer aptitude.
Mandatory Bachelors Degree in an Engineering program
4-5 years of project and / or operational experience
Strong computer skills, including experience with AutoCAD or similar software
A strong appreciation for the environment and sustainability
Multi/Bilingual – a strong plus
