Position Overview

We are seeking a Sr. Director, Business Development and Partnerships whom will be responsible for identifying new areas of strategic opportunity and for creating new high growth, large scale B2B partnerships. The partnership channel is an enormously important channel to enable 4ocean’s growth and brand outreach.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own the overall business development and partnerships program by identifying and closing new partnerships
  • Develops partnerships to drive new brand acquisition by doing the following:
  • Builds and manages a deal pipeline
  • Mentors and recruits top talent to the team
  • Ensures effective follow through of all deals in the pipeline
  • Ensures the effective execution of the partnerships, including deal negotiation, monitoring of performance, and ongoing partner support
  • Aggressively grows existing partner relationships and builds strong relationships with partners by creating ongoing value for both sides and ensuring outstanding communication and follow-through on commitments
  • Shapes and articulates the 4ocean vision and product roadmap to develop new strategic partnerships in various verticals and markets
  • Works with and influences a cross-functional team internally (e.g. risk, product, marketing, branding, and corporate strategy) to support deal execution and drive development of new innovative products and business models that enhance our effectiveness in the market
  • Travels regularly and frequently visiting partners and attending conferences

  • 10+ years total work experience, 5+ years building strategic partnerships and/or managing business development
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including communication, networking, cold calling, relationship-building, negotiation, and building influence
  • Must be able to articulate 4ocean's vision, roadmap, and mission through highly polished presentation skills
  • Savvy understanding of commercial legal contracts and ability to speak legalese with legal counsel
  • Exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop recommendations
  • Creative and strategic thinker who enjoys brainstorming new opportunities with colleagues and partners
  • Strong project management skills and a track record of on-time delivery
  • Comfortable in an entrepreneurial, fast paced, and fluid environment
  • Significant experience of deep collaboration with product and top-tier brands.
  • Strong in managing and developing teammates
