Position Overview:

The ideal candidate is skilled at working both at the strategic level and also diving into details when needed in the quest for excellence. The U.S. Cleanups Supervisor will be a key team member responsible for the strategic development and management of 4ocean’s ocean cleanup initiatives in the U.S. This individual will work with the Director of Global Cleanup Operations and the entire cleanups team to develop and deliver high-impact cleanup activities in Florida and across the country.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify and execute multiple cleanups per month.Some cleanups will be operated by 4ocean and some will be in partnership with key organizations and community partners.
  • Responsible for all operational aspects including, but not limited to, permits, equipment rental/purchase, labor, community organization, logistics and legal.
  • Establish a network or partners and volunteers across the U.S. post the large-scale cleanup.
  • Manage logistics, volunteers, staff and operations for cleanup activities..
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to build new relationships and sponsorships both domestically and internationally.
  • Travel for multiple days to potential cleanup sites for discovery and research purposes.
  • Target most heavily affected areas to conduct impactful ocean cleanups.
  • Further develop the launch of new cleanup initiatives & methods.
  • Duties as assigned.


  • 2-3 years of project management and / or operational experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to represent 4ocean at cleanups.
  • Experience in for-profit business environments.
  • Experience working with product, technology and data teams.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing a team.
  • An ability to flawlessly multi-task and thrive under pressure and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to connect with and articulate the 4ocean mission with constituents at all levels and from various backgrounds.
  • An ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities, meet deadlines and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Creative and independent problem-solver who can get things done and work proactively to anticipate challenges and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and proofreading skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
